The IS 1180 (Part 1):2014  is a  revised ISS, which covers both sealed as well as non-sealed type distribution transformers with voltage of up to 2500 kVA. Further, the IS 1180 (Part 1):2014  also covers nominal system voltage up to and including 33 kV. Besides this the revision of the level 3 certificate in energy efficiency for domestic heating also covers single phase sealed type distribution transformer up to 25 kilo-volt-ampere rating and a nominal system voltage up to and including 33 kilo-volt-ampere.

Moreover, in this revised version i.e. IS 1180 (Part 1):2014 , the distribution transformers have been grouped under three different categories as follows – Energy Efficiency Level 1, Energy Efficiency Level 2 and Energy Efficiency Level 3.
